Tagging other business pages in your social media posts is an effective way to increase exposure and engagement. In Cloud Campaign, you can tag accounts across supported platforms directly in your captions. This guide will walk you through the process and highlight key platform-specific tips.
Tagging Business Pages: Step-by-Step
Important: You can only tag business accounts (not personal profiles) across all platforms.
Step 1: Enable Platform-Specific Captions
When creating your content:
- Click into the caption editor.
- Toggle on Platform-Specific Captions (this lets you customize tags per platform).
Step 2: Add the Tag
- In the caption field for the platform you’re working on, type
@
followed by the account's handle (e.g.,@cloudcampaign
). - A dropdown list will appear with matching business accounts.
- Click to select the correct account from the list.
You’re all set—the selected page will be tagged when the post goes live!
Pro Tip for LinkedIn Pages
If you're having trouble finding a LinkedIn page to tag:
- Make sure you're typing the exact vanity URL name of the company.
- You can find it by visiting the company’s LinkedIn page and checking the end of the URL (e.g.,
linkedin.com/company/**vanity-name**
).
Platform-Specific Notes & Limitations
Instagram Tagging
- Instagram does not support a tag dropdown in Cloud Campaign.
- Simply type
@
followed by the account’s username. - It won’t appear tagged inside Cloud Campaign, but will appear correctly once published.
- Only public, Professional (Business or Creator) accounts can be tagged.
LinkedIn Tagging Limitations
LinkedIn's API does not support tagging accounts that include special characters. These characters will prevent the tag from working:
Be sure the vanity name does not include these symbols.
Instagram Location Tagging
You can only tag a location on Instagram if there is an associated Instagram account for that location.
- If you're unable to tag a location, it's likely that the business doesn’t have an IG account tied to that place.
Facebook/Instagram Image Tagging
- Tagging within Pixel Perfect Preview requires the account being tagged to be either:
- A Business Account or Public Account
Want to Tag on Multiple Platforms?
You can tag pages individually on each platform:
- Make sure you’re on the correct platform tab in Platform-Specific Captions view.
- Repeat the steps to add tags for each platform.
